Waterfront Action Meeting Agenda
Next Meeting - To Be
Announced
------------------------
Most recent past meeting:
Wednesday, February 15, 2012,
8:10 AM Port of Oakland's Exhibit Room
530 Water Street
The Webster Green This space, extending
along Webster from the waterfront toward downtown, was identified in
the 1999 Estuary Policy Plan for reconfiguration as an attractive
greenway providing open space and a pedestrian link to the
shoreline. In December of 2011, the Jack London District
Association held a design charrette for the Green. Our
meeting will examine highlights from the charrette. Our presenter
will be available only for 30 minutes, so to help focus questions and
the discussion, we encourage attendees to review the report
summarizing development principles identified in the charrette.

Waterfront Action Field Trip
The
February 18, 2009 tour of the High Street Bridge catwalks and Hanson
Aggregates was attended by about 20 adventurous members of our
community, businesses, and government, and it was a grand experience.
Rick Ruiz of Alameda County Public Works led us through the narrow
corridor at the shoreline and then back out in the light to the catwalk
under the bridge. Under the care and guidance of Rick Ruiz and Dan
Woldesenbet, Director of PWA, the bridge was raised at 9 AM. What a
moment- and we were under it!
Back
out to High Street and then a walk along Tidewater to Hanson Aggregate.
Hard hats were distributed to all and Mike Bishop, marine operations
manager, gave us a guided tour of the site and its waterfront
operations.
