Commercial Mixed-Use Development Projects

Both Oakland and Alameda are the sites of significant waterfront mixed-use developments.  Mixed-use projects typically include housing, retail, parks and open space.

Some of these projects are in current construction (e.g. Oakland's Jack London Square), while others are in various stages of planning or permitting.  Each will result in substantial opportunities for shoreline public access and will provide Bay Trail connections.

The region's leading mixed use waterfront projects include:
Alameda Landing (on hold)
Alameda Naval Air Station (uncertain future)
Alameda Boatworks (planning & permits)
Jack London Square (in construction)
Brooklyn Basin Project at Oak to Ninth Ave (planning & permits)
