Commercial Mixed-Use Development Projects
Both
Oakland and Alameda are the sites of significant waterfront mixed-use
developments. Mixed-use projects typically include housing,
retail, parks and open space.
Some of these projects are in current construction (e.g. Oakland's Jack
London Square), while others are in various stages of planning or
permitting. Each will result in substantial opportunities for
shoreline public access and will provide Bay Trail connections.
The region's leading mixed use waterfront projects include:

Alameda Naval Air Station (uncertain
future)
Alameda Boatworks (planning &
permits)
Jack London Square (in construction)
Brooklyn Basin Project at Oak to Ninth Ave (planning & permits)
