League of Women Voters of Oakland
Forum on the Oak to Ninth Avenue Development Plan
On March 2, 2006, the League of Women Voters of
Oakland held a public forum on the proposed Oak to Ninth Avenue
Development. Showing strong interest in the project, more than 100
attendees joined the meeting at City Hall Council Chambers. KTOP
taped the program and has rebroadcast it several times.
The forum adhered to a structured Q & A format and was moderated by
League member Richard Winnie. Panelists presented divergent
viewpoints on the plan for waterfront development currently under
consideration by the City of Oakland.
