"The Estuary Policy Plan calls for a system of public open spaces and
shoreline access that provides recreational use opportunities,
environmental enhancement, interpretive experiences, visual amenities,
and significant gathering places. A series of individual parks, public
spaces and shoreline access points, connected by a continuous landscaped
parkway with trails, bikeways and shoreline trails, is recommended." Bay
Trail Feasibility Study and Design Guidelines, 2003, page I-5.
This project is the next step in the implementation
of the Estuary Policy Plan.
