Oakland has 19 miles of shoreline and a number of waterfront parts. Some are generously sized, while others are "pocket parks", open space, or well-developed Bay Trail segments, but all offer rewarding access to your waterfront.

Alameda has a lengthy shoreline that offers a major waterfront park along its bay side, as well as a shoreline park on the estuary and extensive Bay Trail strips along Bay Farm Island:
